Wong Gonzalez is a “rousing and exciting blend of Asian and Latin cuisines. The best of both worlds—not just Chinese…not just Mexican, [they] call it affectionately and playfully Mexinese,” according to their website. Owned by Chris Tsui of EAT Restaurant Group so I knew it had to be good.
Their menu features items priced all comfortably at or below $15.00, with items like Sopa Caliente (a Mexican take on Hot & Sour soup), ‘So right it’s Wong’ Fried Rice, Crispy Crab Tacos and Korean Baby Back Ribs. Above is Wong Gonzalez’s Fiesta Bites [Tempura battered chicken breast wok fried, with cilantro, jalapeno, onion and red pepper 7$]. I could have eaten the entire bowl if it had been socially acceptable.
While the restaurant did get a little loud when it was at capacity, the food is DEFINITELY worth checking out(maybe sit by the door to find a quiet spot.) If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink with friends, their drink selection spans the entire back of the food menu, check out Wong Gonzalez!
They’re open every day except Monday, so head down to 412 E Grace Street to check them out. For a full review check out the restaurant previews page!
