When Continental Divide opened at the corner of Main & Davis in the Fan in the former Mint location back in 2014 I was very sad to see Mint close, but after enjoying happy hour here I was quite pleased at what took its place.
Continental Divide first opened in Charlottesville over 20 years ago, but the Richmond location has been open almost two years now(they originally opened in July of 2014.) Their menu features a variety of Tex-Mex options that are sure to pleasure everyone! We went in for happy hour and tried their signature Red Hot Blues(pictured below) and margaritas of course, I mean who can go to happy hour at a Tex-Mex place and not get a Margarita?
We ate there on a Saturday afternoon at a seemingly busy Happy Hour time and the place was pretty empty, much to our surprise. The nachos were an interesting twist on the old classic. The goat cheese was nice change from the typical nachos, but I feel like a couple more toppings would have made them truly spectacular.
I did add their signature sauce as recommended by our waitress, to 'kick them up a notch' for lack of a better term and they were just right in terms of spice! But be careful, because they can get really spicy quickly if you aren't careful!
